Medicare Advantage (Part C) is a benefits plan by Medicare approved private companies paid by the government to administer their Medicare benefits. For Medicare Part C you must be enrolled in both Part A and Part B. These are HMO and PPO plans.

They also have an out of pocket maximum. Part C needs to be as good as or better than original Medicare. Part C may contain extra benefits such as vision, dental, hearing, and/or gym memberships.

 

You must sign up for Part C. Part C usually comes with a drug coverage plan as well.
